Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 October 2026
By downloading or using Deskwatch ("the app") you agree to these terms. The app is provided by Webgrup, Türkiye ("we", "us"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Macs you own or control, for lawful purposes. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or resell the app, except where the law allows it.
Free Version and Deskwatch Pro
Deskwatch is free to download and includes presence detection, arming modes and unlimited photo alerts to your own Telegram. Deskwatch Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks additional features (such as video clips, quality settings, remote commands, live view on your local network and a longer history). Pro is not a subscription and does not renew. The price is shown in the App Store before you buy. Payment is handled by Apple; refunds and purchase problems are governed by Apple's rules and are requested through Apple. You can restore Pro on your Macs with the same Apple account using the restore option in the app. We may change which features belong to the free version or Pro in future versions, but features you already unlocked in Pro will not be removed without a reasonable alternative. There are no ads in the app.
Intended Use and the Law
Deskwatch is intended only to protect your own device and your own space. You are solely responsible for how you use it. In particular:
- Obey the laws of the place where you use the app, including data protection, privacy, workplace and recording laws (for example the GDPR, the KVKK and local laws on recording images and sound).
- If other people may be recorded, you are responsible for giving any notice, having any legitimate reason or obtaining any consent that the law requires.
- Do not use Deskwatch for covert or hidden surveillance, to record people where they expect privacy, to harass or stalk anyone, or to record any person unlawfully.
- Do not disable, cover or hide the camera indicator light or the menu bar icon, and do not try to make the app appear to be something else.
We are not responsible for any use of the app that breaks these rules. We may remove the app or end your license if you do.
Your Telegram Bot and Your Storage
Alerts are sent to a Telegram bot that you create and control, and videos can be saved to a folder or drive that you choose. You are responsible for keeping your bot token, your Telegram account and your files secure, and for who has access to your Telegram chat and drive. Telegram is a third-party service with its own terms and privacy policy; we do not control it and are not responsible for its availability, security or content handling.
Not a Certified Security System
Deskwatch is a convenience tool, not a certified alarm or security system. Detection can miss a person or raise false alerts (for example because of lighting, camera position, a closed lid or software limits). Alerts can be late or lost if your Mac is off, asleep, offline, low on power, has no camera permission or if Telegram is unavailable. Do not rely on the app to protect people, life, health, or valuable property, and do not use it as your only safeguard.
Live View Access Code
The live view on your local network is protected by an access code that you control. Keep it secret, change it if you think it has leaked, and never expose the page to the internet.
Third-Party Services
The app relies on Apple (macOS, camera frameworks, StoreKit) and Telegram. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services, and we are not responsible for their availability.
Apple Additional Terms
These terms are between you and Webgrup, not Apple. The use of the app is also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Webgrup, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app.
Intellectual Property
The app, its name, design and code belong to Webgrup or its licensors. These terms do not transfer any rights to you except the license above. Photos and videos recorded by the app belong to you (and to whoever has rights in them).
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including uninterrupted operation, error-free detection or delivery, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Webgrup is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, missed or false alerts, theft, damage, or any claim arising from your recording of other people. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory consumer rights.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may change or stop the app, or end your license if you breach these terms.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection rules give you the right to use the courts of your place of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For material changes we will give notice in the app or on this page. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
