Tactora Terms of Use
Last updated: October 16, 2026
These terms govern your use of Tactora: Chess Puzzles ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
1. The service
Tactora is a chess puzzle app. It shows tactical positions from real games, checks your moves, offers hints and the solution, and keeps a daily streak, statistics and a rating on your device. It is an entertainment and practice tool.
2. Rating and results
The rating is a simple estimate calculated on your device from the puzzles you solve. It is not an official rating of any chess federation or website, and it can differ from your real playing strength. Streaks and statistics depend on your device's date and time.
3. Free use and advertising
The app is free, with no subscription or paid features. It shows ads served by Google AdMob: a short full-screen ad between some puzzles (never in the middle of a puzzle), a banner on screens without a board, and an optional rewarded ad that you can choose to watch to get an extra hint.
4. Reminders and widgets
Notifications and widget updates depend on iOS and your device settings (Focus modes, battery, notification permission) and may be delayed or not delivered. A missed or delayed notification, or a widget that has not refreshed yet, does not mean something is wrong; open the app to see the current puzzle.
5. Your data
Your progress, rating, streak and settings stay on your device and remain yours. We cannot recover them for you. If you delete the app, they are deleted.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the app for unlawful purposes, and do not attempt to copy, reverse-engineer or disrupt it.
7. Puzzle content and attribution
Puzzles from the Lichess puzzle database (https://database.lichess.org), released under CC0 (public domain dedication).
The chess piece artwork is original to Tactora; no third-party piece set is used.
8. Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" without any warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the app, including the loss of your progress, streak or rating, or a missed or late reminder.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the app means you accept the current version.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Mandatory consumer rights in your country remain unaffected.
