What does Shakeo do?

Shakeo is a cocktail recipe collection with step-by-step recipes, alcohol-free options and a search that works offline. Add the ingredients you own to My Bar and the app shows which drinks you can make now and which ones you are missing only an ingredient or two for. You can save favorites, group recipes in collections, write your own recipes and notes, and build a shopping list.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Everything you create is stored on your device.

How do the AI features work? How many do I get?

The optional AI features are ingredient recognition from a photo, drink suggestions from your bar, substitutes for a missing ingredient, and recipe import from a link or text. You get 3 free AI uses per day. When they are used up, you can watch one rewarded video to get 3 more uses. The free uses refresh daily (the day changes at midnight UTC). If a request fails because of an error, the use is returned to you. If AI is temporarily switched off, the app tells you, no ad is shown and no use is deducted.

I used my free AI uses and no video is available. What now?

Sometimes no ad can be loaded. The app then gives you a small number of extra uses per day without a video. If those are used up too, you will see a message that no video is available right now. Try again a little later, or wait for tomorrow's free uses.

What happens to my photos and text when I use AI?

After you accept the consent notice, the content is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and on to Anthropic (Claude) to produce the result. Our server does not store or log it. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I withdraw my AI consent?

Open Settings and turn off AI consent. AI features then stay locked until you accept the notice again. The rest of the app is not affected.

Why do I see ads? What are rewarded ads?

Shakeo is free and supported by Google AdMob ads: banners on list screens and occasional full-screen ads. There are no ads on recipe pages, on AI screens or while something is loading. A rewarded ad is optional and only gives you extra AI uses. On iOS you choose whether to allow tracking for personalized ads. In the EU, UK and Switzerland a consent form appears, and you can change your choice in Settings > Manage ad consent.

Can I back up and restore my data?

Yes. In Settings, choose Back up to create a JSON file and save or share it wherever you like (Files, iCloud Drive, e-mail). To restore, choose Restore and pick the file. You can merge it with your current data or replace it. Unknown recipes in the file are skipped. We do not receive your backup. Your regular device backup (iCloud) may also include the app's data. You can also export your shopping list or bar as CSV and a recipe or collection as a PDF.

How do I change units (ml, cl, oz)?

Open Settings > Units and choose ml, cl or oz. Recipes are converted instantly. Bar convention is used: 1 oz = 30 ml. Dashes, barspoons and similar bar measures are shown as they are.

How does alcohol-free mode work?

Turn on Alcohol-free mode in Settings. All recipes with alcohol are hidden and you see only alcohol-free drinks. You can switch it off at any time.

Does Shakeo work offline?

Yes. The recipes are built into the app, so browsing, searching, My Bar, favorites and the shopping list work without internet. AI features and ads need a connection.

How do I delete my data?

Shakeo has no account. Your data is on your device: delete the app or use Settings > Reset data. For the small amount of data on our AI server (random device ID, counters), open Settings > Request data deletion; it sends us an email that already contains your device ID, and we delete the data. Otherwise it is deleted automatically after 90 days of inactivity. See the Privacy Policy.

Are the recipes safe for allergies?

Recipes are for information only. Always check every ingredient yourself if you have an allergy or health condition. AI results can be wrong. Please drink responsibly; the app is for adults (18+).

Does Shakeo have in-app purchases or a subscription?

No. Shakeo is free. There are no purchases or subscriptions.
